This event will be filled with who dunnit's, surprises, and ethics! Toby Groves is a speaker who can show the fraud in the ordinary! Do our most trusted tools help or hurt us? Would Sherlock figure it out? It isn't always elementary! Come learn why we keep missing fraud, behavior, resilience, and where fraud hides, and then finish off the day with your ethics that is waiting for completion for the year. The three sessions will be as follows: Will the Real Fraudster Please Stand Up? Why We Keep Missing Fraud Behavioral profiling, the fraud triangle, and red flags all promise to help us identify the threat. Anti-fraud education promises to take us inside the mind of the fraudster. But real data from actual fraud cases reveal that fraud is committed by a surprisingly diverse population that defies a single label, and that no single “mind” exists to teach. Most fraud is caught by accident or tips, not by investigators, so do our most trusted tools help us or mislead us? In this session, Toby Groves leads a candid examination of what really helps us detect and deter fraud. How Organizations Think - Behavior, Resilience, and Where Fraud Hides Most fraud is not found by the people looking for it. It is found by a tip. That means the detection system that actually works in any organization is its people, and whether a person speaks depends on things no control chart shows: how bad news travels, what happened to the last person who raised a concern, whether disagreement is treated as a threat. Every organization carries a behavioral signature as distinctive as DNA, and that signature decides where fraud can live, how long it lives there, and whether anyone says anything. Toby Groves is a research psychologist with fifteen years of live experiments on how groups think. He teaches his original framework, the social immune system, as a working diagnostic tool for reading that signature. You will practice on real interaction patterns and leave able to see an organization at a depth that documents and interviews cannot reach. Ethics For those that have waited to the end of the year to get their qualified ethics in, we have you covered.
