About the Central Carolina Chapter

The Central Carolina Chapter, Inc. is a non-profit corporation registered with the North Carolina Secretary of State. The Chapter operates under the authority of the International Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, headquartered in Austin, Texas. The Chapter’s mission is to provide quality training and education to members who have been certified by the Association in Austin, Texas and to other members and professionals in the auditing and investigations fields.

Membership is available at the Chapter level to CFE’s, Associate members of the national organization, and to students at colleges and universities in appropriate majors. Current chapter members are engaged in such professions as auditing, law enforcement, accounting, investigation, legal management, and loss prevention and detection fields. The Chapter does not certify members as being “experts” in the fraud examination professions, but only provides instruction and training in the deterrence, detection, and prosecution of fraud.

Please note that the chapter is set up to serve its members. If you have an ideas on how to improve the newsletter or ideas on future speakers, please contact us. Also, please let us know if you have any general concerns or questions.

Accomplishments – If you would like to share news of accomplishments that you or other members have made, please notify us (i.e., having articles published, etc.).

Finally, if you have job openings you would like to post, please notify us.

Due to volume of fraudulent emails that are being sent as if they are coming from officers of this organization, we will no longer post the names and emails of our officers or board members on the website.  Members only will have access to the Chapter Leadership page. Everyone else can reach the Chapter at CCCACFETreasurer@gmail.com.

CPE’s (Please Note)

Just a reminder that new ACFE rules require that your CFE reporting is on your anniversary date instead of the calendar year. The ACFE website has provided that information so that the procedures can be followed beginning with your reporting in 2009. The website address is: www.acfe.com. If you have problems accessing the information, call the ACFE at 800-245-3321 and speak to someone in Member Services.

Chapter and ACFE Rules

Board members (Officers and Directors) should be familiar with the Chapter and ACFE Rules regarding Chapter Administration. If you plan to run for office, please look in the back of your Chapter Directory and become familiar with the information on both Chapter rules and procedures and ACFE procedures.

If you accept a position with the Chapter, you must be able to perform the tasks associated with the job and you must attend the Board of Directors meetings (only two-three meetings a year) unless you have been excused for a reason approved by the Board.

We have several active committees. If you are interested in performing committee work for the chapter, please contact  CCCACFETreasurer@gmail.com
