This session will cover the current wave of artificial intelligence (AI) from a digital forensic investigator’s perspective, including what AI is and what it isn’t, how it works and how to responsibly use free AI tools in your own fraud examinations. The presenter will address common misconceptions about the technology that can cause problems for fraud examiners and their organizations, and provide examples of the impact that AI tools can have on a fraud examination when appropriately utilized.

You Will Learn How To:

  • Compare different types of artificial intelligence technologies and their distinctive qualities.
  • Fundamentally understand how AI works at the most basic levels
  • Choose appropriate uses for artificial intelligence in fraud examination contexts.
  • Identify important considerations for the responsible use of artificial intelligence.
  • Explore AI in the courts, AI related lawsuits and case, and coming government regulations.

SPEAKER:  Derek Ellington is a popular speaker and presenter for ACFE, and an experienced trainer and instructor.  A Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified E-Discovery Specialist, and licensed Private Investigator with over 25 years of IT and Digital Forensics experience. 

He is a court recognized Expert Witness and has testified hundreds of times in all manner of courts and jurisdictions.

His company provides Digital Forensics services from their state-of-the-art lab. They specialize in discrete field acquisitions in civil, corporate, domestic and family law situations.
