Vic Hartman has developed a holistic approach for dealing with all aspects of fraud–The Fraud Life Cycle. This encompasses Prevention, Detection, Investigation, and Litigation. The presentation will deal specifically with corruption.
Corruption occurs at the local, national, and international level. This presentation carefully defines different types of corruption including bribery, kickbacks, conflict of interest, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Using case examples, former FBI Agent Vic Hartman shows how corruption can be prevented, detected, and investigated. Hartman provides his unique perspective to explain root cause analysis of corruption.
SPEAKER: Vic Hartman. He is a 25-year veteran of the FBI, attorney, and CPA. Vic is the founder of The Hartman Firm, LLC in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in internal investigations, forensic accounting, and fraud mitigation consulting. He developed the Fraud Life Cycle model for addressing all aspects of fraud. Vic has also specialized in corruption while an FBI Agent and in the private sector. His presentation will address the prevention, detection, and investigation of fraud with a special emphasis on corruption. Vic is also an adjunct professor at Georgia State University where he teaches a master's level forensic accounting course, and he is the author of the book, The Honest Truth About Fraud–A Retired FBI Agent Tells All.
